We at Kid's Zone, Inc.
believe that as early childhood caretakers and educators we must
focus on the development of the whole child. This includes the
following developmental areas: social, emotional, language,
cognitive, large and small motor, multicultural, and self-help and
independence.
We believe children need a well-planned
environment with suitable learning experiences. Such an environment
includes many individual and group activities, and free-choice and
teacher-directed activities. Children learn best when they are
actively involved in their learning through the use of play,
manipulation, discover, and experimentation. Children need to apply
their knowledge in everyday experiences; we aim to provide such
opportunities.
The teacher's role
is: to provide physical care and nurturing, to show acceptance of
each child's uniqueness, to promote children's learning through
experience and materials, to model and guide, and to enable each
child to develop a lifelong love of learning.
The parent's role
is: to be supportive of their children and our staff; to express
concerns and share ideas; to be responsible with their contract,
billing account, and other obligations; and to keep open
communication with staff. The parent's and teachers regular
communication is vital to the highest quality of childcare and
education. We want parents, children, and staff to feel safe in our
center.
The child's role
is: to grow, learn and develop; to accept responsibility for their
choices; to respect each individual; and abide by center rules. |
